This new poll reveals a growing demand for stronger mental health support in the workplace—and a critical gap between what employees need and what they receive.
According to the Ipsos-conducted survey of full-time employees at companies with 100+ workers, key findings include:
- While 26% of employees shared that they do not know whether their employer offers mental healthcare benefits, an employee assistance program, flexible work arrangements, or sick days for mental health, over 80% of respondents report these benefits are or would be important to creating a positive workplace culture.
- Only 39% employees feel comfortable discussing mental health with HR, while 81% would talk to a close friend at work about it.
- Just 28% wuld share concerns with senior leadership—highlighting a majr trust gap.
- More than 75% of employees want better mental health education, including training on burnout, crisis response, and how to access employer benefits.
- Only half of the workforce (53%) know how to access mental healthcare through their employer-sponsored health insurance.
