"Work has always been about people, and people aren't static," said Sreeni Kutam, president of global product and innovation in a recent ADP release. "Their lives are continuously in motion, shaping the needs and the expectations they have of their employers. Work this year will be about listening and responding to those needs with greater urgency and delivering an employee experience that integrates people's full lives…”
Personalized by design
People are forever changed after the last few years, and workers will expect more choices from their employers in 2023 including both flexible schedules and flexible pay. In fact, according to ADP research, 76 percent of workers across all ages, income, and education levels wanted earned wage access. On top of more benefits, the tools workers utilize will need to be individualized, with employers offering more; from personalized pay options like earned wage access to tailored career profiles to enrich the employee experience; doing so will deliver and drive talent engagement.
Real-time responsiveness
Employee listening is a rising trend, with companies deploying survey tools and other real-time listening posts to tap into what's on their workers' minds so they can react and address feedback quickly. That is why employers will increasingly gauge worker sentiment through the next year, and workers will expect timely responses in return. In a recent internal survey of ADP clients, employee survey capabilities surfaced as one of the top three priorities for HR practitioners. To respond meaningfully in real time, it will be crucial for employers to leverage data-driven technologies.
Data backed transparency
Data will reveal its superpowers, delivering transparency for the greater good. To continue this progress this upcoming year, employers will need to tap into solutions that can provide benchmarks and continuously updated information to reflect trends in the market in order to help organizations craft action plans and monitor for improvement. With evolving legislation and compliance considerations, employers will need to consider how data can impact their workforce.
Intentional Innovation
People want to work differently, which will force employers to find new, innovative solutions. Now experts in adaptation, employees should expect new approaches in the new year from employers on how work gets done and how they can advance to keep up to date with the changing workforce. In 2023, employers will need to keep exploring ways to cultivate talent and brainstorm new solutions, including AI-driven career pathing technologies, prescriptive learning recommendations, and insights-driven team leader coaching.
