The process of training evaluation has been defined as “any attempt to obtain information on the effects of training performance and to access the value of training in the light of that information”. It helps in controlling the training programme because if training is not effective, then it can be dealt with accordingly It helps in determining that whether the actual outcomes are aligned with the expected outcomes.

Good learning assessment framework will be able to show the entire learning journey of employee by means of a scale (Beginner to Expert).
-It important to know understanding level of learner, few methods are
(a) Face to Face interview
(b) Computer based assessment
(c) Simple Questionnaire (Created by experts)
Recommendations
- Assign learner a dummy project so they can work while going through program
- Give a manual and milestone schedule along with stages of assessment.
Result should be capture in automated tool or simple excel sheet along with ratings from all stages.
Number of mid assessment required depends up the duration of program. Generally one in week or one in fortnightly will be fine.
-Before final assessment, pre-assessment should be made. Quality feedback should be taken form learner along with ratings.
-Should ask to trainer to rate the learner about his/her readiness to work in new domain.
Final assessment should be taken from the Customers i.e. Project Manager, Product Manager, Delivery leader (There feedback is key to whole program).
When to give green flag to the learner
-If he shows upward trend in assessment and project manager feedback is +ve.
