    5 Working Ways to Resolve the Work Burnout


    With us living in a world where life has become more like a race and where everybody is concerned with achieving their goals and not with enjoying the journey, pressure and stress have become our regular acquaintances. And with unvarying pressure and stress is accompanying work burnout. But what is that? Now for those of you who are unfamiliar with this term, burnout refers to a feeling of physical and mental exhaustion. It is a state where you feel unable to cope with life. Generally, it is a result of working for absurdly long hours or is caused because of dealing with incredibly difficult people.

    Its initial symptoms include feeling ticked and annoyed at unnecessary things, experiencing a stiff feeling in your neck, featuring red and tired eyes, your shoulders climbing up to your ears, experiencing a feeling of resentment towards the task you are currently working upon, etc. But this is not the end, because with time these symptoms register a fast growth and soon you are left completely burnt out. It is indicated by the feeling of exhaustion which by now, takes over your body completely, and by the state of your dysfunctional brain. Moreover, with burnout, you feel physically, emotionally, and mentally drained. 
    But what is the cure for it, if there is any? Well, the good news is that we do have a cure for this state. And if you want to know what it is then read further!

    How to deal with burnout?
    Here is how you should deal with it. Just follow these 5 super-simple steps!

    1. Take a vacation

    Firstly, if you are experiencing wok burnout, then you need to stay away from work for some days. This will help you in restoring a balance. So, what you need to do is to go see your manager and apply for a leave. Explain your head your current circumstances and tell him that you are leaving for a two-week vacation. 
    Also, while you are on the vacation make sure to turn your phone off in order to completely cut yourself off from work. This is necessary. If even on vacation you are answering work calls then you should rather stay in your workspace. Remember the goal here is to not just see the sceneries but to feel refreshed and free.


    2. Find a release3
    When you are burnt out, you feel strained as if all your nerves are tightly coiled up. So in order to deal with it, try to find a release. Do something which makes you active. Most certainly it will do the trick. So, for this, be on the look-out for physical activities that won’t stress you out any further and that will also offer you a release. 
    Consider playing video games or slot games as those are fun and they can release some of your tension or else you can also go for a swimming or shooting session. However, if you are not a shooting or video games person and you don’t even know swimming then consider opting for meditation. Researchers claim that it has miraculous positive effects. 

    3.Take a break from alcohol and caffeine2
    Many of us make alcohol, energy drinks, cigarettes, or caffeine a way of our life. Our body soon starts relying upon such aids to function. Hence, whenever we find ourselves coiled up or under stress we run to these aids to minimize our load. But this is not a healthy lifestyle and over time it can also add to our burnout. 
    Hence, if you feel you are totally exhausted with your work, take a break from alcohol and caffeine. Try developing a thing for other, more healthy ways to calm your nerves. You can start by going for a walk, reading a book, running, or developing some other hobby, etc. to break the mold. Just do something that settles your nerves and makes you feel calm and awake.

    4. Have a heart to heart with someone close5
    Humans are social beings. We have been created in such a manner that we rely upon society to exist. And that is why having family and friends who have got your back no matter what counts. Now, thankfully, having friends and family helps you out with a work burnout situation too. 
    What you have to do if you are experiencing the symptoms of burnout is to call someone whom you consider close. Discuss with them your emotions, your life, your work. Tell them everything about what you are feeling, how your thoughts are spiraling. If you feel like it, then feel free to shed some tears too. After all, someone who is supposed to offer you his shoulder when you cry is sitting right next to you. Hence, just let it all go. We assure you that when you will be done, you will breathe a little more easily.

    5. Get plenty of sleep, exercise, and eat well

    This is an important step. It can both help you in dealing with the burnout and practicing it can help you in avoiding it too. Hence, do follow these simple steps. 
    All you have to do is to learn to inculcate 8 hours of undisturbed sleep and some exercise in your daily schedule along with a balanced diet. The sleep will offer both your mind a body the rest that it needs, the exercise will keep your body and brain more active and healthy, while the balanced diet will ensure that you are providing the right nutrients and vitamins to your body and brain to fight against stress and lethargy.
