Love what you do and do what you love

When I was in my senior years at high school I was, as you do at that age, thinking about what I wanted to do with my life.  As I mulled over the various options available to me one of the criteria was, as the reality is that we spend the majority of our time at work, it should be something that you enjoy and find interesting .
 
I have been fortunate enough throughout my career to have work to do which has been both interesting and ( Mainly ) enjoyable.  I have also, as a result of work been able to travel  and live in other parts of the world which is indeed a rare privilege .   With the work I have done in Human Resource Management and Employee Relations over the years I have met many people who did not enjoy their jobs or what they were doing but their options were limited.
 
As we know the  labor market has changed as a result of many factors and the pressures on all of us have increased.  This makes it all the more important to enjoy and be passionate about what you do.   
 
I will close with a quote from  the writer Ray Bradbury  which sets this out well 
 
"Love what you do and do what you love. Don't listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life"
