Comprehensive Benefit Administrators (http://cbacompanies.com), a company combining traditional brokerage services with specialty services including advocacy, claims administration, benefits expertise, and compliance, recently launched a new non-profit program called “Private Sector Cares” to assist business owners and Human Resource professionals in finding resources for employees and dependents who are struggling with addiction.
The program is a collaboration of health insurers, private citizens, large and small employers and a few of CBA’s industry competitors. The organization is on a mission to take advantage of the fact that over 60% of our citizens receive their health insurance via their employers. It is an opportunity to train and provide real time resources to business owners and HR professionals when confronted with an employee or employees’ dependents who are struggling with addiction. Currently information on how to respond and where to go for help is often fragmented and confusing even for the most healthcare literate consumer.
“Opioid use is killing so many of our own and we believe we can make resources available to those who are in immediate distress.” said Michael J. McKenna, Founder/CEO of Comprehensive Benefit Administrators. “The programs and resources are out there when people need help, our program assists professionals to navigate the system and get their people the help they need.”
