There is widespread concern about changes that AI is creating in the world of work. Forecasters predict that the greatest changes are yet to come. Employers recognize the critical nature of these changes and their impact on internal and external labor markets. However, AI is also playing a role in understanding the problem and addressing solutions.
On Thursday, May 30, 2019, the NYU Tandon School of Engineering will host “Predicting the Future of Work: The Impact of AI,” a free afternoon conference presented by the Department of Technology Management and Innovation, in cooperation with the school’s affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (TechSHRM), NYC SHRM, and the International Association of Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM). The event is co-sponsored by noted consulting firms Accenture and AON.
At this conference, top thought leaders from major organizations will address cutting-edge AI methods being developed to predict various HR outcomes related to the future of work. For example, identifying the work requirements that will become obsolete and the new ones that will be in demand. This will help improve not only the employability of individuals, but also organizational competitiveness and the nation’s economic vitality. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from and network with leading experts to understand how AI can be applied to predicting future critical HR outcomes to help win in the global “War for Talent”. These leading experts come from firms including Accenture, AON, Deloitte, IBM and Mercer. In addition, a human capital analytics research team from NYU will address the prediction of future job skills.
The May 30 conference – designed for a diversity of backgrounds ranging from AI and human capital analytics experts to HR generalists, as well as for faculty and students from various disciplines – will be held from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the NYU Tandon Pfizer Auditorium, 5 MetroTech Center, in Downtown Brooklyn. Online participation is available.
Networking will take place during the afternoon break and at an evening buffet after the Conference.
