With advancing technologies and demographics creating a constant state of change, progressive leaders are looking to the HR profession for new ways to sustain and grow organizational success.
Those seeking to “Create Momentum” within their own lives and workplaces need look no further than the upcoming HR Conference + Tradeshow on April 2-3, 2019 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Media are invited to attend and interviews with key speakers will be arranged as available.
Hosted by the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia & Yukon (CPHR BC & Yukon) and anchored by five visionary keynote speakers together with a wealth of diverse breakout sessions, the annual HR Conference + Tradeshow also showcases the largest West Coast Tradeshow of its kind. As in year’s past, on April 2, 2019, the opening day of the Tradeshow also welcomes the wider business world, free of charge—and features signings from many of the top speakers.
As always, this year’s keynotes are, not what might be expected from a ‘typical’ HR conference, but reflective of the dynamic evolution and challenges the profession and wider working world now faces.
Geared to “Create Momentum” from the start, opening keynote speaker Mel Robbins (April 2 @ 8:30 a.m.) comes equipped to reveal the ‘secrets’ of breakthrough performance with “The 5 Second Rule”—the title of both her book and globally praised TedTalk.
Bookending the first day on the main stage (April 2 @ 3:30 p.m.), the ‘magic’ continues with keynote Duncan Wardle, past Head of Innovation and Creativity for the Walt Disney Company, bringing “The Theory of Creativity” home to the workplace.
Day two brings three stellar keynotes forward—and kicks off with Ron Tite’s “Think. Do. Say” (April 3 @ 8:30 a.m.) guiding the way to getting everyone within an organization on the same page for success. Named one of the “Top 10 Creative Canadians,” Tite melds wisdom and wit to entertain and enlighten.
Things toughen up for noon as keynote speaker and the holder of five Olympic meals—four of those gold—Hayley Wickenheiser (April 3 @ 12:30 p.m.) takes the stage with tips on how to perform under pressure. As a titan of sport—she holds the record for most assists, points and goals for the Women’s National hockey team—she is a leader whose wisdom resonates on and off ice.
Rounding out the keynote presentations, master storyteller Steve Gilliland (April 3 @ 3:30 p.m.) is a member of the Speaker Hall of Fame and renowned for his wit heard daily on SiriusXM, as well as his four books. Come learn to Hide Your Goat!, and put the toxicity of the negative workplace and head space behind you for good.
