It’s that time of the year – time for countdowns and celebrations. We decided that it would be a good time to do some research and find the most popular Human Resource related articles of 2016. Our rankings are based off of the articles that received the most social media shares in 2016. Some of these articles are focused directly on HR, others are leadership focused, and others are about company culture.
Let’s kick this off starting with number 10 and heading to number 1. After all, who doesn’t love a good countdown?

This is a more recent article, but it shot up the ranks quickly. HR professionals always talk about company culture, improving company culture, changing company culture, etc. But the truth of the matter is that HR can’t make this change happen on their own. It takes the entire organization, working alongside HR, to make it happen.
9) Boss Wants Friendly, Relaxed Company Culture In Place By Friday
I’ll admit, this one is just for fun. It comes from the news satire website, The Onion. Either way, it has still earned 23,000 social media shares. It’s a short read, so have a quick laugh.
8) Why the Best Leaders Want Their Superstar Employees to Leave
This article takes a bit of an unconventional view. Most of the time, we’re doing everything we can to develop leaders and keep them, but the argument made here is that as top performers leave your company, you’re going to have a quicker flow of new talent to fill their shoes. Essentially, you’re better off having top performers for a short amount of time than having average performers forever.
