As the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) reflects on 2015, we wanted to share with you our new video, “Changing the Conversation on Women’s Status.” In spring 2015, IWPR released Status of Women in the States: 2015 and launched our interactive Status of Women website, statusofwomendata.org, which provides critical data to identify areas of progress for women in states across the nation and pinpoint where additional improvements are still needed. The project is also the most accessible, comprehensive source of data on women of color in the United States. Throughout the summer and fall, IWPR followed up with special releases on the union advantage for women by state, the economic status of women in Colorado, and the best and worst states for women.

We want to keep this conversation going into the New Year!
IWPR’s upcoming Status of Women in the South report will present a more in-depth study of women’s experiences in fourteen southern states. In addition, it will give an overview of how women from various population groups fare in the South, including women of color, young women, older women, immigrant women, women living with a same-sex partner, and women in labor unions.
