In light of the Upstate’s continued growth in manufacturing and increasing demand for industry talent, Air Force veteran, Lindsay Hansel, is announcing the launch of First Class Recruiting.

Designed to provide a partnership between the recruiter and client, the company will specialize in executive level recruiting in the manufacturing, aerospace, IT, and accounting sectors. First Class Recruiting will also offer customized HR consulting with hopes of expanding into Health and Safety consulting.

“As a smaller company, my process is more hands-on,” Hansel said.

“As a result, I create a true partnership with my clients and help them grow while enhancing their team with talented professionals,” she said.

According to a study conducted by the Manufacturing Institute, nearly three and a half million manufacturing jobs likely need to be filled over the next 10 years, but the skills gap is expected to result in two million of those jobs going unfilled.

“The workforce is the biggest issue today,” said Chuck Spangler, COO of the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

“A lot of the top companies rely on recruiters for not only executives but also for plant floor personnel,” he said. “Recruiting firms help companies flex with demand.”

Hansel said the majority of manufacturing companies are lean and require outside assistance in the recruitment process.

“Given the level of manufacturing in South Carolina, jobs are in demand and they will need a recruitment specialist to fill them,” she said.
