TORONTO, ON (October 6,2015) – Harbourfront Centre’s Learn to Skate programme, generously supported by the RBC Learn to Play Project, offers over 90 skating classes with private and group options, taught by our experienced and supportive skating instructors. Classes are offered from November 2015 to March 2016 for skaters of all ages and skill levels.
“Harbourfront Centre’s Learn to Skate classes are designed specifically to suit each skater’s skill and comfort level, from first-time skaters to those looking to improve their skating technique,” explains Eugene Chong, Learn to Skate coordinator. “Our small classes ensure that everyone gets the instruction that they need, and there’s also the option of booking a private lesson for yourself or a small group, to truly customize the experience.”
All classes take place outdoors on the Natrel Rink, set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Ontario. The first Learn to Skate session begins on November 24 (weather permitting), with additional sessions running through March 8. All sessions include classes for each age group and level, ranging from Kinderskate to Adult Intermediate.
Harbourfront Centre offers both figure skate and hockey skate rentals for $8 each, helmets for $5 and/or both for $11 per day (limited sizes available). Please note that all Learn to Skate participants are required to wear CSA-approved hockey helmets. Harbourfront Centre also provides coin-operated lockers, heated change rooms and washrooms for students’ convenience. Food and beverages are available at Lakeside Local Bar & Grill, along with 24-hour parking at the underground lot located on our site at the foot of Lower Simcoe Street.
