Chapel Hill, NC (08/28/14) – Waldron, the Seattle office of Career Partners International, the leading global provider of outplacement, executive coaching, career transition and other talent management services, was recently featured in the Institute of Corporate Productivity (i4cp) study, “Creating a High-Performance Culture.” The study highlights a comprehensive leadership development program designed by Waldron/Career Partners International – Seattle for Emeritus Senior Living because of its outstanding results and plans for continued implementation.
With a partnership that initially began based on succession planning needs in the organization, Waldron/Career Partners International – Seattle helped Emeritus define what effective leadership looks like within the organization and how individuals can achieve success in leadership roles. Using a 360 assessment customized to Emeritus, Waldron/ Career Partners International – Seattle assessed leaders against the nine leadership competencies defined through the process and created personalized development plans that include executive coaching to help individuals develop or enhance the required competencies.
In the i4cp report the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Emeritus, Liberty Stansberry, was quoted, “The CEO, the executive team, and every VP who has been in the company more than six months has gone through the coaching program. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive.”
The program, which is in its fourth year, continues to produce positive results for Emeritus in retention, promotion rates, and employee satisfaction. Emeritus indicated that 40-45% of current executives are promoted from within, helping the company create a leadership pipeline for succession. Emeritus plans to roll the program out to the executive director level in all locations. Additionally, development of employees that includes coaching has become an integral part of the organization’s culture.
“While the traditional executive coaching process takes place over a period of months, introducing this very brief coach facilitated process has driven rigorous development planning into the culture in a unique way,” commented Kevin Osborne, Vice President of Client Services at Career Partners International – Seattle, in the i4cp report. “I think it was key that Emeritus chose to do this right – starting at the top and cascading it down.”
The i4cp report outlines four strategies and practices for organizations not yet ready to completely overhaul performance management practices in order to make efforts more effective. Their recent press release regarding the report states that the most pertinent of the four findings is that “a truly effective performance management strategy is fluid and it reflects the changing needs of the customer or broader market. Goals, behaviors, and objectives should all be in direct relation to the customer.”
“The level of success that Emeritus continues to experience demonstrates the importance of understanding our client’s goals at Career Partners International,” added David P. Hemmer, President and CEO of Career Partners International, headquartered in Chapel Hill, NC. “We focus on identifying and addressing the specific needs of each client. As the i4cp research indicates, only by focusing on these distinct needs can approaches like the one implemented at Emeritus be successful in developing leaders within organizations.”
