VISA ISSUANCE DELAYS AT U.S. CONSULATES WORLDWIDE DUE TO TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
The Department of State (DOS) continues to experience technical issues with their visa/passport systems. As a result, applicants are experiencing delays in visa issuance. The issue is affecting all DOS consular posts worldwide, and in certain circumstances is restricting an applicant’s ability to pay the required National Visa Center (NVC) fee. At this time the DOS has not provided an estimated time frame for when their systems will be fixed; however, the technical issue has resulted in a backlog of visa applications. Visa applicants should be made aware of these delays and plan their travel schedules accordingly to potentially accommodate increased delays in visa issuance.
