Your screening vendor should help create a comprehensive FAQ, tailored to your population. But to get you thinking, I've listed three of the most basic questions your employees are likely to ask:

Why screenings?

It's so basic that some wellness professionals miss it entirely. If employees don't understand why you're offering biometric screenings in the first place, they may not trust the process. They need to know that screenings are an investment in their health -- plain and simple.

The person who delivers the message is an important as the message itself, so make sure it comes from someone who speaks for the entire organization. Ideally, the president or CEO.

What happens to my health information?

You may know HIPAA inside and out, but your employees probably don't. Help them understand that their health information is protected by federal law and will never be seen by the company. If you're sharing employees' data with a third-party such as another wellness partner, be sure to explain exactly how and why.

Are the tests accurate?

Sometimes it's assumed that workplace screenings aren't as reliable as laboratory tests, but that's simply not true. Doctors and hospitals across the country use the very same equipment to provide rapid cholesterol and glucose testing. Ask your screening vendor for technical documentation and make it available to your employees.
