* You have been fired
* You made a decision to quit your job and:
- start a business; become a consultant; go back to school, or move to a new state
* You retired but you need to do some type of meaningful work
* You want to return to work after:
- illness, family leave, divorce, or sabbatical
If you have been fired or you are seeking a new role – you need a plan! Here are the questions you need to consider in order to design a customized career transformation plan:
Questions to Help You Get the Role You Want
1. Are you REALLY clear on the type of role (job or business) you want?
2. Have you identified your Value Proposition for your target role or business? 3. Do your marketing materials (Resume, Bio, Brag Book, Brochure, Achievement Portfolio) and your social media platform (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) reflect your Value Proposition?
4. Have you identified and leveraged your Leadership Brand?
5. Do you have a target list of organizations that could use your expertise?
6. Where do the influencers or decision makers for your industry/career field hang out?
7. What’s your plan for getting in front of these influencers and decision makers?
8. Do you have a weekly Career Transformation Plan with action items, targets, milestones, people to contact, etc.?
9. Do you assess your performance at the end of each week and use this analysis to be more effective in the following week?
