CANADIAN IMMIGRANT INVESTOR PROGRAM REMAINS
TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS
TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS
On July 1, 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) imposed a moratorium on the Federal Immigrant Investor Program (FIIP) to reduce the existing large inventory of applications while the program is reviewed. This pause on new applications will continue until further notice from CIC.
The temporary closure of the Canadian Investor program may impact U.S. investor programs by diverting willing investors to the U.S. market. The U.S. EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program was designed to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors and remains in effect.
