Leveraging these proprietary matching tools, Preptel 2.0 is no longer simply a reactive tool that helps with candidate résumé optimization; it now also actively searches and presents positions that a job seeker has the best chance of getting, all while ranking the probability of them getting the job.
The new site now aggregates job descriptions and applications from various sites (i.e. CareerBuilder.com, Beyond.com, and LinkedIn) into one place. Preptel’s Resumeter™ measures the likely success of securing an interview (and ultimately the job) based on a complex series of compatibility markers; once identified, the system will scour around the clock and intelligently suggest jobs starting with those that best fit the applicant’s qualification. Next, the system will actively help the candidate optimize the résumé for the specific jobs identified to increase the applicant’s likelihood of securing an interview. Recognizing that computers read a résumé first (not humans) and that over 75 percent of résumés are discarded for using the wrong word or formatting issues, the system will highlight recommended changes to the résumé in addition to job-specific matching suggestions. In addition, Preptel creates a timeline of the application process for each job – the system will warn users of deadlines if they are about to lose an opportunity.
