    JOB/PERSON SPECIFICATIONS


    4.1 The human resource available to an organization has to be properly allocated to various departments and functions in order to ensure that the work is adequately discharged. The allocation of human resource is done keeping in view the following:

    • Nature of work involved
    • Actual tasks which the position incumbent will be required to carry out
    • Knowledge and skills considered necessary to effectively discharge the tasks assigned

    4.2 In addition to the above factors, the personal traits, aptitudes, and behavioural aspects of individuals may also have a favourable or adverse effect on performance. It is therefore, desirable to assign due weightage to these factors while assigning jobs to individual employees.

    4.3 The process of human resource allocation is facilitated by the availability of “Person Specification” for job positions in an organization. This helps in objectively matching the requirements of the job with the person being placed in that position. It also helps in ensuring that the plan of organization is geared towards a systematic approach to career progression for individual employees.

    4.4 In order to assist AL-IKHWAN management in placing the right man in the proper job, “Person Specifications” have been developed for all benchmark jobs and made part of the job descriptions. The following details have been included:
