I’m feeling very fortunate right now. For the first time in about six weeks I have some semblance of physical wellness after a bout of flu that moved into pneumonia. I will do my best to have the good sense to be mindful of capacity when scheduling next year. Otherwise it’s easy to end up in the sick bay. Everyone has a certain level of capacity. Please stay mindful of yours, otherwise you lose the capacity to provide anything.

I just did my last Negotiations class at University of California Berkeley (Boalt Hall) Law School. One of the exercises we did was a simulation of the various interests in the Occupy movement. One point learned was that when people are doctrinaire or partisan very little can be accomplished by way of a collaborative negotiated resolution.

I can’t believe I’m feeling Grandfatherly. That’s what happens when babies start showing up in your family. Not sure what it means yet but I can testify that falling in love with an infant is impossible to resist. Maybe we should keep mothers and infants present as part of any serious geopolitical negotiation. The old men seem to forget what it’s about!

I’m looking forward to visiting Argentina and Chile right after Christmas.

I have been working on bringing collaborative capacity to Supply Chain applications. I have co-authored a piece with Bob Stahl and we’re on the verge of the first client engagement where we include interpersonal capacity as an essential skill set.

My involvement in Colorado Conflict Resolution Month was a great success. One of the highlights of the many events I participated in was working with members of the State Legislature.
