I run my department different from other managers. I have realized how important it is to give employees not only recognition but the responsibility of completing a special project. When this is done you are showing your employees you trust them enough to take on a special projects and the importance of completing the task with pride.
Many times we forget to say thank you or praise them for doing a great job, because we might feel it's their job. This is true we are paid to perform a service; however, in order to complete any project you need to have a successful team because there is no I in team. So it is very important to thank your employees and to take the time out to listen to any concerns he or she may have. When this is done you will have less friction among your team and a better and organized group that will take pride in what they do.
I personally can say I have increase productivity by 40% from last December. And one of the reasons why you need to manage first and implement rules that your entire team will adhere to, and from there you create responsibility for each one and you too will see the improvement in productivity.
