Globalization has been underway for centuries.
Vikings crossed the Atlantic. Inuits started in what is now Russia and crossed the Bering Straits into Canada. Marco Polo took lengthy trips around China... but he wasn’t looking for the white sands and the clear waters of Yalong Bay.
They were all seeking the same thing: currency, in the form of food, fabrics, metals and gems, and distance was also key. They may not have ended up precisely where they intended, but they found what we call in the present day, improved supply chain logistics.
