Hundreds of thousands of people may be handing in their resignations this month, after mulling over their careers during the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer at the beach.
Year after year, statistics gathered by Resource on Demand, a cloud recruitment company, show that 37% of all resignations occur in the third week of September more than any other week of the year, and that 24% occur in the first week of February.
It's no surprise that most new jobs are triggered by the two major holiday seasons, as time away from our desks gives us a chance to evaluate our careers and consider our options.
A July 2010 study by the Institute of Leadership and Management showed that 40% of workers don't return from their holidays feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Perhaps this is a good time to look for work that you will love so that you can look forward to Mondays.
