In the United States some of the best and brightest employees and managers are products of another country. They are well educated, motivated, hard working and truly valuable assets to the company they are working for. In many cases they are highly proficient in reading and writing English but their weak English pronunciation skills can create communication issues with other employees and sometimes with customers.
Now, there is now an inexpensive and easy to implement solution to this problem: The English Speech Key Trainer’s Kit. This comprehensive product was created by the Ford Language Institute for corporate trainers to teach English pronunciation skills to their non-native English speaking employees. The primary component of this kit is the English Speech Key, a 2GB flash drive/MP3 player loaded with the American Accent Program software and the AAP Audio program.
This Trainer’s Kit includes an Instructor’s Syllabus to help trainers design their on-site class sessions. If a corporate trainer is not available a company can often find an intern, a volunteer college student or a retired businessperson in the community to instruct the English pronunciation class for 3-5 hours a week.
The AAP software does not require a high speed processor or a lot of memory so usually older surplus computers work fine. An Unlimited Use License for a single venue is included with the English Speech Key Trainer’s Kit making this is a long term, onetime investment ($175).
Businesses that are offering English pronunciation training are realizing increased employee morale and loyalty as well as improved employee retention, enhanced customer relations and reduced employee recruitment costs.
