Picture looks bright for Austar chief
Regional pay TV provider Austar United Communications has held its AGM, with investors approving the remuneration report. However, CEO John Porter had to rely on 55% stakeholder, US-based Liberty Global, to get his salary package passed after a protest vote of about a third of all proxies. Porter, whose contract is not fixed, says he has no plans to step down. He concedes growth in subscriber numbers has slowed recently due to competition by the internet and seasonal factors.
