HAVI Logistics, based in Bloomingdale, Illinois, has lost its contract with Starbucks and will be closing its Portland office and laying off around 60 workers on July 14.
For the past five years, the company has worked under contract with Starbucks to deliver food products to select Starbucks locations, but Starbucks has now awarded the contract to QCD Packaging Inc. based in Evansville, Indiana.
The company's human resources vice president , Terri Conway, says it is possible that the new company may hire some of HAVI's Portland-based workers.
Starbucks was HAVI's sole customer.
