    How do good managers handle bad situations?

    Many times what defines an effective manager is how he or she handles negative situations. Positive situations are easy. It is the negative situations that are a real test of our ability to turn a stressful situation into a positive, learning experience.

    The way managers communicate with their employees – particularly in stressful situations – is a determinant of group cohesion, goal achievement, and individual and team accomplishment.
    Employees need to feel they have a real leader who will push them when needed, but also mentor them and fight for them whenever they need it.
