        IS it time for you to finally get employed by the perfect organization? You have graduated and you need experience or You have worked in various different poistions in different companies but none appealed to you. How do you ensure that you are sending your applications to the right places and how best do you prepare yourself for this job hunt? Read on..

        >> Your first question is: Where are you looking for these jobs? Are you randomly applying to job openings advertised in your daily newspaper? Or are you properly considering all options opened to you-- even if you can't see them right now? There are many jobs which are not advertised in newspaper/ radio or TV. You need to reach these job vacancies. Every organization is looking for candidates who are eager to work and would go do to lengths to get it done. Opporutnites do not come knocking on doors. You need to start networking. Talk to fellow job seekers, old employees, people employed in the sector you want to be employed in.. Go through career websites of organizations you know of. Once you start networking, the gates to hidden jobs and (secret) invitations to walk in interviews would open for you.

       >> Most organizations do not employ all year round. They follow a recruitment cycle and they dedicate a month or two in which they hire people. If you are fresh graduate, do not waste time applying to jobs which require experience or expertise. Jobs which are newly opened or which appear, because of other reasons such as firing of employees or retirement, can be opened at any time of the year. These jobs need to be filled fast and you need to pursue them more vigilantly as they are likely to be at higher levels. These reruitments may not involve a gurelling employement process but it is always easier to be prepared. When it comes to preparation, applicants should note that interviews (online/ phone/ walk-in/ scheduled) are one of the deciding factors of any applicant being selected. Some organizations take aptitude tests or organize discussion or training sessions which need to be cleared as well.

        >> Internet forms the principal source of information for applicants and employers. It also provides an easy route for applications. Most organizations buy application tracking systems to attract candidates. Applicants need to locate job boards where they can send in their resumes or applications and wait to be reviewed by the recruiter. This online system of hiring makes the applicants life easier. It has information on the job openings available at hand for the applicants to get familiar with. While applying for such job openings, it would be pertinent to check the criteria for the job vacancy so as not to get disappointed later when rejected. Such job boards also have integrated email systems so candidates can contact the employers directly. It is always easeir to communicate with the employers and get any issues or queries answered. These systems may even support online interviews but that's upon the organization's discretion. Candidates should remain prepared for the known and the unknown.
