Employment background screening expert Lester Rosen of Employment Screening Resources has been selected to join a distinguished line-up of speakers at the Northern California Employment Law & HR Forum in San Francisco on September 24, 2009. The event features leading employment law and HR experts from around the United States.
Mr. Rosen will be presenting on the topic of, “What Employers Must Know About Current and Prospective Employees to Make Prudent Employment Decisions and Avoid Liability.”
“Employers who fail to exercise due diligence in the hiring process have found that there can be a very high price to pay,” commented Rosen, who is also an attorney. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to share with employers’ ways to avoid bad hiring decisions by using legally complaint pre-employment screening tools to minimize workplace risks.”
Mr. Rosen is a nationally recognized background checking expert, as well as a writer and speaker on the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), pre-employment screening, and safe hiring issues. In addition, Mr. Rosen is the author of the first comprehensive book on employment screening, The Safe Hiring Manual Complete Guide to Keeping Criminals, Imposters and Terrorists Out of Your Workplace.” He also wrote, “The Safe Hiring Audit.”
Mr. Rosen's speaking appearances have included numerous national and statewide conferences. He has testified in the California, Florida and Arkansas Superior Court as a background check expert on issues surrounding safe hiring and due diligence. Mr. Rosen was the chairperson of the steering committee that founded the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), the professional trade organization for the screening industry, and served as the first co-chairman in 2004.
