Paramedics threatened with court action over fireworks staffing
VANCOUVER — The striking Ambulance Paramedics of B.C. are being threatened with court action for contempt of an essential services order stemming from a dispute over staffing levels at Celebration of Light fireworks.
The matter was brought before a B.C. Supreme Court judge on Tuesday after discussions between both sides and their lawyers.
“The government is alleging the union is in violation of the essential service order,” explained William (B.J.) Chute, director of public education with the paramedics.
