As the city looks to trim about $2 million from its general fund budget, staff members have identified almost $1 million in savings through reductions in employee benefits. In a memo sent to employees, City Manager Bill Watkins outlined four proposals for cost-saving measures, based on feedback from an informal poll of employees, labor groups and the Employee Benefits Committee.
