      Our company sent a candidate an offer letter of employment. The candidate signed this letter and faxed it back by the answer deadline date and all was well. Now our company feels they shouldn't have rushed their decision and would like to continue with the search for a "better fit." The candidate that signed the offer letter told us before we sent them the contract that they declined another offer to accept ours. Can we legally retract the offer letter knowing that the candidate turned down another opportunity and has solid proof of that alternative offer as well as their declination? What are the legal repercussions we will face if this candidate decides to pursue legal counsel? Can he/she do so and sue our Company for their loss of the alternative offer?

      working in an organization whose job it is to recognize achievements, I can tell you that if a person isn't happy in what they do, then no matter what kind of recognition they receive they aren't going to do the job right.
