On December 20, 2005, the National Tax Service (NTS) in Korea announced the publication of the "Easy Guide for Foreigners´ Year End Tax Settlement."  NTS hopes that this new guide will help foreigners filing for income tax returns.   The NTS plans to distribute the guidebook to all foreign chambers of commerce and embassies in Korea.  NTS has posted the guide online at http://www.nts.go.kr/NTS_files/eng/guide/Year-endSettlement_2005.pdf and has also started a telephone hotline (02-2076-5711) for foreigners with questions about their tax returns.  

The guidebook is written in English and contains answers to frequently asked questions regarding year end tax settlement benefits for foreigners.  The guide also reviews all job situations and the relevant taxes associated with these situations.
