Leverage automation to allow HR to engage in more value-added work

Today’s HR professionals have a lot on their plates. Even as they continue adjusting to workplace health risks and new work arrangements, they must also try to hire enough employees at a time when talent is scarce and many employees have resigned from their jobs.



HR.com's HR Research Institute partnered with BambooHR, a leading provider of all-in-one HR software, to investigate the current state of HR professionals, with an emphasis on small and mid-sized organizations to examine which issues are most important to today’s HR professionals, how HR professionals feel about their jobs, including what they like most and what prevents them from doing value-added work, the amount of time HR departments tend to spend on manual
administrative work, etc.

Key findings from the survey:

Finding #1: Although 60% of HR professionals enjoy their current jobs to a high or very high degree, there is still considerable room for improvement

A majority (60%) of HR professionals enjoy their jobs to a high or very high degree. However, this still leaves a large percentage who enjoy their jobs to only a moderate (28%) or lower degree (12%). This suggests that there's still considerable room for improvement.

Finding #2: HR professionals tend to find developmental tasks to be the most fulfilling
