“The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” -- Ralph Nader
There’s an inner leader in all of us and a true leader inspires and creates more leaders, rather than creating more followers. At LEAD2019 in Salt Lake City in early March, we truly had our eyes opened to that power we have within. We each have the power to change ourselves and the people around us to create a #AWorldInspired.
On the first day, March 5th, LEAD included a series of intimate roundtables and best practice workshops that set the stage for new learning and engaging with other thought leaders and skilled professionals in the industry. During the event, the LEAD Awards, also known as the Oscars of HR, celebrated excellence in both HR and Leadership Development across the globe. The LEAD Awards, showcasing the world’s most effective, leading-edge, and esteemed leadership and training and development programs and individuals, were announced.
This year we were honored to partner with Qualtrics and the X4 Summit event to give our LEAD attendees a comprehensive, exciting and rewarding leadership event.
The X4 Summit breaks down experience management revealing ideal leadership development techniques, whether it be through offering breakthrough customer, employee, product, or brand experiences. Top experience experts and thought leaders from around the world gathered to share and learn and take in inspiring messages from amazing keynotes such as Sir Richard Branson, Ashton Kutcher, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, Oprah Winfrey, and former President Barack Obama.
In addition to the list of the LEAD2019 award winners, this edition offers a variety of other informative articles on leadership. Cheryl Cran’s Reverse Mentoring By Millennials talks about how reverse mentoring by Millennials increases dialogue and trust and breaks down the barriers of ‘generational’ differences. Beth Benatti Kennedy's article, Recharge Your Employees And Their Careers, points out why it is essential to give employees the tools to grow, develop, and future-proof their careers. Read Making Leadership A Movement, And Your Company’s Greatest Asset by Karen J. Hewitt to know how to create a leadership movement and more.
This is just a sneak peek into what we have in this edition of Leadership Excellence. We hope you enjoy reading all articles and look forward to hearing from you!
Last but not least, we believe that there is no better way to connect with people than by sharing your leadership story. If you have one, send it to us and don’t forget to email us your feedback. Continue leading the way for more leaders!
Happy Reading!
