More Than Half of Unemployed Workers With Job Offers Said the Pay Was Over 25 Percent Below
Although many unemployed workers are eager to start earning a paycheck, some are holding out for better offers.  A new survey from Personified, CareerBuilder’s talent consulting arm, shows that 17 percent of unemployed workers have received at least one job offer since they have become unemployed.

Hospitality Pay Increase Budgets Continue to Decrease in 2010
Although many economists have predicted the U.S. may see a very modest economic improvement in 2010, pay increase budgets have continued to decline over the past year. The newly released 2010 Compensation Data Hospitality survey results show pay increase budgets have fallen to 1.9 percent, down from 2.2 percent in 2009.

One-in-Five Workers Have Trouble Making Ends Meet as More Indicate They Live Paycheck to Paycheck
As the effects of the recession linger on, one place it continues to have a tight grip is on workers’ wallets.  Nearly eight-in-ten (77 percent) workers report that they live paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet. Sixty-one percent of workers said that they felt they lived paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet in 2009. Workers went on to say that sometimes they are unable to make ends meet at all, with one-in-five (22 percent) saying they have missed payments on bills in the last year.
