RBS is losing some talented staff, but maybe it doesn't matter too much
Despite being state-owned and losing "star" bankers to publicly traded rivals, RBS's investment banking division – known as Global Banking and Markets – has performed well and the bank is getting back on its feet. This seems to suggest that RBS, its main shareholder UK Financial Investments and the government have got it about right on remuneration, however messy the process.
