    HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE RESEARCH:

How Is ATS Usage Related to Better Talent Acquisition?

Not quite half of the survey respondents said their overall talent acquisition is good or excellent – 49%. While we cannot prove causation between using an ATS and the effectiveness and efficiency of talent acquisition, 57% of organizations using an ATS rated their talent acquisition good or better. Only 37% of organizations not using an ATS considered their talent acquisition good and only 1% said excellent.

ATS are primarily time-saving and organizational tools

Two-thirds or more of participants agreed on three items. Seventy-seven percent said their ATS helps them stay organized, though only 22% strongly agreed with that statement. Most also agreed with the statements that their ATS saves time and is easy to use. Generally speaking, participants are confident in the ability of their ATS to handle tactical or transactional issues.

What's Likely to Emerge in the Future?

This survey inquired about which will be the most beneficial ATS enhancements to emerge over the next three to five years. About two-thirds chose greater personalization. This is, of course, part of a larger trend. Today, we receive personalized online ads, personalized music and movie recommendations, and personalized services at hotels, to name just a few. This tends to increase loyalty and engagement, so it makes sense that HR professionals want to also apply personalization to recruitment, where it could help attract and engage candidates in a tight labor market.
