    HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE RESEARCH:

What Key Workforce Management Issues Affect the Retail and Hospitality Industries?

When we asked participants in the retail and hospitality industries to select their top three workforce-related issues, just over three-quarters (76%) said "retention of employees" was a challenge. This was, by far, the most widely cited challenge, which is probably due to today's tight labor market. The strong labor market is also making recruitment more difficult. This issue was cited as a major challenge by about half of participants. Likewise, two-fifths of participants have labor cost (41%) issues. This suggests that organizations may find their labor costs increasing as they struggle with recruitment and retention problems.
