Integrated HCM in Small-to-Midsized Businesses: Derive maximum value when purchasing, planning, or managing integrated systems
OCTOBER 2017
Integrated human capital management systems are no longer confined to large organizations, according to new research conducted by HR.com to over 500 HR professionals, in partnership with BambooHR. The research uncovers the degree to which today's small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) use integrated HCM systems and how they maximize the value of those systems. You will learn key strategies if you are in an organization that is either considering purchasing and implementing an integrated HCM system in the future, or if you are trying to improve your existing system. Read best practices and 7 key takeaways from the research.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE RESEARCH:
Over half of respondents reported some level of satisfaction with their HCM solution, but just 11% were very satisfied. Moreover, about a quarter were actively dissatisfied, with the rest not providing an opinion either way. We can interpret this "glass half full" finding in one of two ways. We could argue that this is good news because over twice as many respondents were satisfied as were dissatisfied. But we could also argue that a 26% dissatisfaction rate is far higher than any business would like to see.

What about the 60% of the SMB participants who are not yet using an integrated HCM solution? Over a third of organizations that are not currently using an integrated HCM solution are planning to seriously evaluate such solutions in the next year (37%). Another 12% are planning to carefully consider integrated HCM solutions in the next two years. Twenty-three percent do not rule out such a solution but will look "down the road." These responses tell us that nearly three-quarters of these participants at least have integrated HCM solutions on their minds.
