The Ebbinghaus forgetting curve, a psychological theory that asserts 70% of information is forgotten in three days, is a classic reminder of the fragility of human memory. And while the 70% figure is thrown around a lot, but of more concern is his estimation of memory retention after a month: only 3% of information is remembered thirty days after it is presented. While Ebbinghaus conducted his experiments in the late 1800s, his results have been successfully replicated time and time again.
