With the advancements in digitization and technology, the learning landscape has seen a drastic change in the past few years. To gain a better understanding of the current learning and development (L&D) trends, technologies, and learner engagement, HR.com’s HR Research Institute conducted an exclusive study on the state of learning solutions and learner engagement in today’s organizations. This month we bring you a themed edition, which includes the research study and a handful of informative articles on learning and development.
As per the study, only 17% of respondents strongly agree that their L&D function is excellent, while another two-fifths moderately agree (38%). About 70% identified skills development and a little less than two-thirds (63%) say career development is important in driving learning. The third most widely cited factor is regulatory compliance, cited by about half (48%) of organizations. For top suggestions on how organizations can improve their learning solutions, learner engagement and overall learning effectiveness, download the complete report, The State of Learning Solutions and Learner Engagement.
Featured on the cover is David Deacon's article, Training Managers In The Things That Really Matters that talks about why it is important to look at how we train our managers.
Andrew Hughes' article, Using Augmented Reality To Improve The Employee Training Experience, stresses on why improving the employee training experience through augmented reality can bypass a lot of the usual issues.
No matter what generation a learner is in, learning should be presented as an opportunity instead of a requirement, says Jerry Cox in his article, Learning For The 5-Generation Workforce.
