      Yes, I do agree that Millennials do not suck and neither does any other generation. But I do agree that they are more capable than other generations. There is not a day that doesn't go by that I don't receive an article or an email blast about the millennial generation. I get more email about this generation than any other generation in the workplace and I ask myself why.

      “The youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, and contempt for authority," was Socrates. We need to cut the crap and stop the divisiveness. We were all millennials once, with those qualities at that age. Now that I'm older, I'm still a lot of these things and some others - some for better, some for worse. I know what I want, am (yes) still open-minded, passionate, etc. Maybe a little less ambitious, but I have experience and better judgment (having lived through some business wars) to go with the talent now. I'm willing to bet that there are just as many counting the hours to get out the door at night - regardless of age - as there are ones "counting the days until his pension kicks in." (BTW - Pension?? What is that?) So, yes, I agree. Millennials do not suck. Neither do GenY, GenZ, GenX, or Baby Boomers. Labels suck.

      What I meant to say was that I do NOT agree that millennials are more capable than other generations. I totally agree with everything you have written Doreen and I am quite frankly sick of the subject. I agree we are sometimes less ambitious because some of us have been at our profession for many years and are weary some days. But that doesn't mean we are less passionate and certainly less knowledgeable. It is now 6:08 p.m. EDT and there is not one millennials in my building. Do they want work/life balance, of course they do and so do I. But someone has got to get the work done. I guess that would be me because I'm less ambitious, less open-minded, less talented and I don't know when it time to say "I'm done".

      Hope you didn't think my comments were directed at anything you said, Linda; it is strictly about being, as you said, "sick of the subject." Good point on the empty parking lots. (There were only 6 or 7 cars when I left ;-) ...AlthoughI think others are "logged in" from afar. When I was in the "millennial" stage of life, the parking lot was full past 6 or 7p and on Saturdays - but remote working was not an option/luxury. You're right that the work must get done...but some things I'm learning from others is that work doesn't always have to be done by me, and can be questioned for its value or urgency. As a long-time sufferer of "high-desire to please, slightly low self-esteem, and perfectionist tendencies" (Oops. I just labeled myself.), I'm working on a cure. And that does not suck. :-)
