Transparency through digital media has changed the way we relate to those around us in many ways. We share details of our daily lives on social media for all to see, in addition to social and political opinions that many used to keep more private. So it seems only natural that the question of transparency within our work lives, including our salaries, would eventually cause a stir. Organizations with a transparent salary policy make wage information for all employees public, either just within the company or externally as well. In the same vein as seeing photos of someone’s weekend escapades online, your co-workers would be able to see exactly what you’re getting paid, and vice versa.
