    How Conversational AI Is Changing The HR Landscape

    Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are engineered to make life easier, and the aim is no different when it comes to human resources (HR). This technology is created to optimize workflows and the trend of HR professionals embracing conversational AI tech will continue in 2022. 

    In the new year, expect to see the emerging trends in conversational AI and hyper-automation continue to overhaul HR workflows, as more and more users begin to trust and crave the seamless --and precise -- instant responses that only this type of advanced technology can provide.  
     


    Onboarding numerous new employees charge HR providers with many of the same questions and tasks. AI can intervene, successfully answering the questions heard time and again and saving the time of HR professionals for more complex conversations with employees.    

    Conversational AI is designed to operate in lockstep with employees, establishing an integrated, more efficient, faster customer service experience.   

    With natural language processing (NLP), AI now understands speech rhythms, along with all of our idiosyncratic speech patterns, such as “uhms,” “ahs” and words with mixed meanings. It learns which ones apply, making it much more reflective of human speech and much more able to direct queries and resolve concerns.   

    When onboarding employees and welcoming them into a new culture, reflecting and understanding casual speech patterns helps leverage the efficiency of AI without leaving employees to feel like they’re not in contact with HR professionals. 

    NLP/NLU technology is advancing quickly. These processes improve the end-to-end experiences, while delivering optimal results, and handling day-to-day employee issues, while allowing HR professionals to focus on the important work of running a human resources department.  

    Over the next several years, conversational AI chatbots and virtual assistants will become essential partners for every human resource department with the tech’s 24/7 availability making it easier to scale services and support than ever before. Employees will be able to get answers to common inquiries around the clock, while HR employees will make better use of their time, focusing on more important tasks and emergency response scenarios. 

    Conversational AI technologies also offer the opportunity to have personalized conversational experiences, where employees have unique interactions that answer questions perhaps one might be too embarrassed to ask a human HR representative. The reasons for this are varied and may include not wanting to ask the same question twice or even addressing an issue of a very personal nature. 

    By tapping into the disruptive technology of robotic process automation, Conversational AI enables HR departments to efficiently, and cost-effectively automate routine tasks and processes that historically demanded their attention. Moreover, using innovative NLP/NLU technology, HR departments can consistently delight employees with enhanced service experiences, automated support, and the resolution of inquiries with personalized, intelligent interactions. In the fight for talent, providing clarity and easy-to-access information and internal customer service is key. 

    This is essential to a company’s expansion, as hiring, testing, and training are an expensive part of operational growth. That’s why keeping human HR talent free to interact with new hires helps ensure success.
