There is a heightened global consciousness driving and demanding that organizations move towards enabling everyone to have equal opportunities and support to develop, succeed and thrive. 2021 will be a critical year in moving the needle toward a more diverse and inclusive future at workplaces.
It has been almost 60 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. He recognized and understood the benefits inherent in inclusion and equality, and that when we operate with this tenet as our north star, workplaces have the potential to advance society as a whole. Although we have advanced since then, we still have greater progress to make and more work to do.
Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) should have always been a priority for every CHRO, however, that is not the case. It is high time that companies embrace their role in ensuring fair and unbiased hiring, compensation, promotions, etc., for their employees, irrespective of their gender, sexual preference, age, religion, race and disability.
The February edition of Talent Acquisition Excellence, with a special focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, brings you a set of articles that will help you understand all the facets of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Featured on the cover, this month, is Diversity 2.0: Creating An Inclusive Workforce by Andy Valenzuela that talks about how HR teams must continue transforming existing processes and focus on how technology can mitigate bias and improve diversity.
We also bring you a couple of exclusive interviews with experts where they talk about why Effective DEI Programs Require Sustained Commitment From Leaders And Senior Managers, How To Build An Effective Diverse, Equal and Inclusive Culture, and How To Build A Culture Of Acceptability And Inclusivity For Employees With Disabilities, among others.
Also featured in this edition is the State of the Industry Research, The Future of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 2021 that focuses on DEI initiatives to achieve greater and long-term organizational success.
