Even though your values and philosophies are alive, you should never let it grow old. If you’re going to live by them, you’ve got to keep them alive.
An enduring philosophy isn’t defined by a shiny plaque on the wall or a two-day, off-site retreat with your team (although these things can certainly be helpful tools). A philosophy has to exist in your DNA, as a living, breathing thing.
Authority, authorship, and authenticity share the same Latin root, "auth," which comes from authenticus, which meant “principal” in the sense of being first or chief. As the root of the words “author,” and “authority,” it denotes the chief person who determines how the story goes.
This mean-spirited behavior felt even more personal and hurtful coming from other women. It made me wonder why women aren’t working together more. Complicated societal factors including stereotypes and gender bias contribute to how women are perceived, even by other women.
According to Upper Echelons Theory, a popular organizational theory, we should be uniquely interested in leaders’ mindsets. This is because Upper Echelons Theory suggests that direction and success of an organization is based upon what its leaders pay attention to.

One of the most effective ways to develop future leaders of your company is to let them pursue initiatives in areas that are new to them. Let them push outside of their comfort zone to see what they can do. I learned this through my own personal experience.
