    I heard the beeping of the heart monitor and felt the intense pain first before I opened my eyes and realized that I was hooked up to a bedside monitor in the ICU. I had no idea where I was or how I got there, let alone what brought me there. I looked around the room, completely dazed and thoroughly confused when a nurse walked in.
