We are slowly getting into the flow of 2016. How is the New Year treating you? Have you taken any resolutions? Are you working towards your goals? If not, read this issue of Personal Excellence Essentials and get some motivation.
You may have heard that although about 45 percent of us usually make New Year reservations, only 8 percent achieve them. It seems that when it comes to making lasting change, many of us have misplaced the keys.

The job market is a scary, intimidating place, and can make the prospect of staying at your current job (no matter how boring or unfulfilling) all the more appealing. No need to send out resumes, no stultifying cover letters to write, no emotional rollercoaster of hope and despair as you wait to hear back.
Our brains make it difficult, if not impossible, to fully or accurately comprehend what our Communication Partners wish to convey. We hear their words, of course, but we often end up interpreting them well outside the intent of the Speaker. I spent 3 years researching and writing on this topic for a book, (What?) and came away in awe of the magnitude of this issue and how deeply our unconscious choices prejudice our conversations.
During this time, people process their final defining moment: dying. This is the moment that requires the most courage—the surrender and the acceptance of one’s life. When family and friendscome to the care center to be with their loved one, it’s a blessing. But often, it is too late for words or actions that provide comfort or healing.

Training yourself and reinforcing the techniques by training others is a process that will not only enhance your marketability, but also ensure others around you will increase their successful climb up the corporate ladder of life.
