Our editorial team interviewed Sara Morales, HR director, Cisco at the LEAD2018 Awards this past February. Here are some excerpts from the exclusive interview.
What is the overall objective of your program?
Develop next-generation HR leadership for Cisco.
Who do you impact with your program?
HRLP participants, HR leadership team and other key stakeholders.
What are the lessons you’ve learned this year from facilitating your program?
Cisco continues to transfer and we need to continue to transfer our program. The most important element of this program is our community element, bring in new talents and make them part of our community, develop the cohort and make them continue to have an impact for our business transformation.
How do you measure the return on investment and success of the program?
We measure this program by retention, engagement of participants as well as their career progression over time, what types of leadership roles they are taking in the organization, and the business impact our HRLP participants and alumni created in and outside of HR organization.
What lies ahead for the program and how will it continue to succeed?
We’ll continue to develop, retain, attract and engage our talent, building a strong and better relationship with our core schools to look at key talents in HR.
